As the Primary school counselor, I am honored to work with parents/guardians and their students as they make the transition from home to PPCD, Pre-K, and Kindergarten. I serve as our campus RtI coordinator and 504 coordinator. If you have an educational or emotional concern regarding your child, please come by my office for a conference or give me a call at (254) 865-7264. My main focus is to work together with families to help provide resources needed to promote success and ensure safety for all of our students. Throughout the school year, I also teach Character Education lessons to each of our Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms. During these 30 minute lessons, the students engage in different activities focusing on the nine character traits: Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, Self-Discipline, Cooperation, Honesty, Citizenship, and Perseverance. This classroom time I spend with the students is one of my greatest joys. The Primary School emphasizes all of the character traits by taking what you have taught at home and incorporating it into the school setting. Joseph Chilton Pearce, an American writer and lecurer, was quoted as saying: "What we are teaches the child far more than what we say, so we must be what we want our children to become." Children are a true blessing and gift; and I am honored I can work together with our parents/guardians and teachers to guide our children in their educational success and overall personal character in society.
